Use of GRIPFIX in securing the canvas of soft top boats makes them considerably more attractive.
Now you can mount weatherproofing or drainage lists under the canvas on all sides without risk that the canvas will become loose. Even though it is relatively small and of simple design it holds the canvas in place, where larger and more complicated fasteners fail to do so. Too tight and worn out holes are no longer a problem.
Simplified and gentler buttoning on the new model effectively reduces the wear on windows and zips. This results in less maintenance and prolonged lifetime for the canvas.
GRIPFIX is screwed to the surface with a 4.2-mm stainless steel screw. To obtain maximum fixing, a thin layer of adhesives (Silicone, Sicaflex or similar) can be added between the fastener and the surface. The hole in the reinforcement should be 10 mm in diameter.
The use of GRIPFIX to fasten a filament covered rubber cord is further improved with the new design. A cord of 6 mm thickness will still be fastened when the cord goes slack. This can be used to fix canvases deck pillows, covers and similar equipment.
GRIPFIX has been used to fasten boat canvases along Norway's weather beaten coast for more than 10 years. Neither the extremes of winter or summer weather have degraded the fastener.
